Pedag insoles, "over the counter"
orthotic foot supports and inserts are crafted (much of the
process is done by hand) in Zeesen, a
village south of Königs Wusterhausen, in
Brandenburg, Germany. Familiar across
Europe, Asia, Australia and now in
the US, Pedag is known for the use
of high quality natural materials,
anatomically correct orthotics, comfort
and relaxed lifestyle. Europeans
typically insert insoles in their shoes
to address personal issues such as: The
demands of individual sports, improved
comfort and fit of shoes or to help
relieve or prevent pain from a foot
condition. Pedag has such a wide range
of items there is usually more than one
choice for any concern.
Pedag
insoles, inserts and foot and arch supports are an essential prerequisite for comfortable and
healthy feet as well as for well-cared shoes. Pedag knows what Socrates said
is true: "When our feet hurt, we hurt all over". Breathable natural
materials provide a pleasant and hygienic interior climate in the shoe.
Innovative Hi-Tech materials offer optimum solutions to problems. All in
all, our technical and orthopedic know-how ensures relaxed feet, as we offer
the appropriate solution for every problem, every situation and every shoe.
Leonardo da Vinci thought that the foot was "a masterpiece of engineering
and a work of
art": 26 bones, 100 ligaments and 33
joints in the foot influence our well-being every step we take. Insoles and
foot supports by Pedag can even transform a high fashion shoe into a shoe
that is more comfortable and supportive and much less likely to do permanent
damage to your feet.
Pedag insoles are either made of natural
materials like vegetable-tanned cow
hide, sheepskin, cotton, sisal, charcoal
or wool which allow the foot and shoe to
"breathe," or a polypropylene orthotic
foot bed, latex or moss rubber pads are
encased in these materials. Our
adhesives are water, not petroleum,
based. Many insoles use active carbon
filters or nano sized silver ions to
prevent the growth of bacteria and
odors. Our gels have been tested
and approved for prolonged contact with
human skin.
About Pedag USA
Pedag USA is the
exclusive representative and importer of
Pedag products in the USA. See: Contact Us.
Pedag
products go through some of the most
rigorous testing in the industry.
First, we must pass our own laboratory
testing in our Research and Design
facility in Zeesen, Germany. Then
our insoles and inserts are all
manufactured in Germany where much of
the process is done by hand.
Then we submit our products to
several European testing facilities,
for example: The Rheinland TÜV, the
Institut Fresenius
and Öko-Tex.
Pedag
has also received the prestigious
American Podiatric Medical
Association (APMA) Seal of
Acceptance for some of their
insoles.
See:
(APMA
Brochure)This rigorous testing requires
evidence the product is both safe
and efficacious. Products are
submitted to laboratory testing and
a scientific evaluation by an APMA
panel of podiatrists and scientists.
We guaranty
our insoles for 6 months against
manufacturer defects.
For better, safer hygiene, Pedag
uses Bioactive® fiber, which is
pure cotton terry infused with
nano sized silver ions that
inhibit buildup of bacteria,
eliminating odors and reducing
the risk of fungi like Athlete’s
Foot. Bioactive® fiber is gentle
on your skin and absorbs
moisture to keep your feet dry
and comfortable. These insoles
are hand washable and the anti
fungal properties stay active
permanently. See:

Pedag Gel reduces load peaks
that put stress on heels or the
ball of the foot. Gel eliminates
burning foot pain and radiating
pain to ankles, knees, hips and
back. It is an excellent product
for heel spur and Achilles
Tendon problems. Pedag has
tested the Gel material (at the
Institut
Fresenius in Germany)
and it was
found to be safe for prolonged
contact with human skin and
3-Layer Innovative cold barrier:

Breathable insoles made of high
tech materials:
The pioneering development of
breathable membranes
revolutionised the out door
clothing and footwear industry
too. In shoes and boots,
high-tech materials keep
moisture out while carrying
moisture, produced by
perspiration, from inside the
shoe to the outside. However,
the
technology can only function
properly if all parts of the
system – shoes, socks and
insoles – are coordinated with
each other so that moisture is
not retained but is able to
evaporate easily. To achieve
this, Pedag has developed
several insoles that provide
complete warmth in outdoor
winter footwear. They are made
from a special new material
which is perfect for textile
footwear that is made with a
climate membrane (TEX). This
high-tech foam contains millions
of micro-air chambers, and its
characteristic construction
provides a combination of unique
properties:
·
Complete thermal insulation
against the cold
·
High impact elasticity for
special walking comfort
·
Good dynamic durability in wear
(resistant to tearing and
friction)
·
Non-slip
·
Also suitable for people with
sensitive skins (according to
Fresenius Institute 2005, cover
material made in accordance with
Öko-Tex 100)
·
Proven skin-friendliness,
washability and soft cushioning
make it suitable for diabetics
too
When
the foot’s biomechanical symmetry is disrupted, torque and
stress are transmitted throughout the tendons, muscles,
ligaments and bones. This increases wear and tear on the foot
and the rest of the body…and introduces pain. Pain is a sign
that foot function is out of sync, introduced by:
Disrupted gait cycle
timing
Change in foot trajectory
between heel strike and toe-off
Differentiation in
pivotal speed between feet
Variation in the force on
the sole of the foot
Pedag can correct the
balance and function of the foot to relieve pain and
improve comfort and function.
The best shock absorption
your feet can have is a functioning ‘plantar vault.’: The
area that includes the heel and bottom on the foot up to the
metatarsal heads. This is the architectural structure built
around the longitudinal arch that blends movement of joints,
ligaments and muscles into a unified system. The plantar
vault adapts itself to uneven ground, like hills, rocks and
beaches.
Feet are stressed by many
factors: standing for hours, repetitive motions like
running, jumping, overweight, wearing too tight shoes, high
heeled shoes, the downward force of gravity and many other
stressors. All of these aspects of living create
downward pressure on the foot causing the arches of the foot
to flatten and ligaments to weaken. Pedag knows that
cushioning the foot is not the most important way to
alleviate the greatest foot stressors and foot pain
producers.
The foot needs
support.
Cushioning is NOT the primary
help your foot needs. It needs support for the plantar
vault, metatarsal arch and extra cushioning at the heel.
Most shoes provide protection
from the ground by providing a cushioning layer. Today’s
athletic shoes, even inexpensive ones, provide great
cushioning and shock absorption. Most insoles on the
market are designed to add to the cushioning layer that the
shoe provides. Pedag concentrates on support not
cushioning. Unlike most insoles, Pedag insoles are
more semi-rigid (like most custom orthotics) and firm rather
than soft and cushioning. They are designed to support the
architecture of the foot. Pedag is able to prevent
foot problems, relieve pain and restore function by
supporting the arches, ligaments, bones and joints of the
foot. You’ll be amazed at the comfort and relief a
properly balanced, supported foot offers.
All Pedag orthotic insoles are
designed to be anatomically
correct in how they fit and
support your feet.
Each orthotic insole will fit
your existing shoes.
Heel cushions reduce shock and
heel pain.
Forefoot pads shift weight away
from the ball of the foot to
relieve pain.
Cushioning options resolve pain
radiating to ankles, knees and
hips.
Athletes appreciate the way
Pedag stabilizes and supports
the active foot for improved
pivot and torque.
Pedag chooses to use natural
materials, water based
adhesives, vegetable tanned
leather, skin tested gels, skin
tested latex, natural (no harsh
chemicals) anti-bacterial and
odor control.
Pedag
is known for the use
of natural materials. Pedag
insoles allow the foot to breathe
inside the shoe. This keeps
the foot comfortable, helps prevent
fungi and bacteria
from
growing and keeps the shoe fresh as
well. Below are some of the
insoles and inserts that use natural
materials.
